The number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by more than 80 in the state on Wednesday, September 23. In addition, there was another four-digit increase of positive COVID-19 cases.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services says the total number of positive cases increased by 1,580 from 115,366 on Tuesday, September 22, to 116,946 on Wednesday.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by 83 from 1,864 on Tuesday to 1,947 on Wednesday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.

DHSS says the next update is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 24.
