
During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, September 24, Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said a roadway is currently closed.
In other news, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. gave an update on the progress at the water tower at Marshall Junction.
Guthrey said the painting is just about finished. He said they put three coats of paint on the inside.
The water tower is located about a mile or so east of Marshall Junction and just north of I-70.
Guthrey explained it’s a slow go with laying the water pipe at this time, though.
In other news, commissioners approved the hiring of two persons- Christina Ward as a jail administrator and Caitlyn Clements as a deputy- for the sheriff’s department. Each started work on September 21.
