A COVID-19 exposure alert has been issued by an area health department.
According to the Cooper County Public Health Center, if you attended the Poulsen-Glenn wedding on Saturday, September 19, or their wedding brunch the next day, you may have been exposed to COVID-19.
You are urged to use the health center’s website- https://coopercountypublichealth.com for more information. You will need to click on contact. Your message will be confidential. You need to submit your name, e-mail address, home address, phone number and add which of the events you attended under comments.
The health center says there will be staff working this weekend, but you should anticipate busy phone lines. If you do not have access to the internet, call (660) 882-2626.
If you are experiencing even one symptom, the health center urges you to seek medical care. Symptoms include: sore throat; cough; headache; sinus pressure; nausea; vomiting; shortness of breath; difficulty breathing; loss of smell or taste; fever; chills; fatigue; diarrhea; and/or backache. If you have any of those, you are urged to contact your physician for an order to seek out a PCR nasal test in Columbia at MU, Boone Hospital or Urgent Care clinics.
Health officials say the PCR nasal swab test is better suited in this event due to the need to receive rapid results over this weekend.
