More COVID-19-related deaths and numerous more positive cases of the virus were reported in the KMMO listening area since Friday, September 25.

More recoveries than new cases were reported in Saline County on Monday, September 28. According to the Saline County Health Department, three new cases and 14 recoveries were reported. To date, there have been 774 positive cases. With 667 recovered and 12 deaths, there are 95 active cases, including three persons hospitalized. These numbers are based on case management provided by the health department staff.

The Lafayette County Health Department confirmed 41 new cases of COVID-19 and six deaths from Friday through Monday. These additional cases raise the total to 539 cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. With 335 positive cases recovered and 14 deaths, there are 190 active cases. Health department officials say there have been 302 new cases so far for the month of September. Around 80 of these are institutional residents, and the rest are in the various communities.

In Pettis County, 40 new positive cases of the virus were reported and two more deaths were confirmed. There have been 1,134 cases confirmed in the county since the start of the pandemic. With 883 positive patients recovered and 20 deaths, there are 231 active cases, including nine persons hospitalized.

On Monday, nine new positive cases were reported in Cooper County, raising its total to 448. With three deaths and 361 positive patients recovered, there are 84 active cases.

In Howard County, seven new cases were confirmed and eight recoveries were added over the weekend. With 248 of the 291 total positive cases recovered and one death, there are 42 active cases, including one person hospitalized.

The Chariton County Health Center reported two new cases of the virus on Monday, increasing the total to 76. With 71 positive patients being released from public health isolation as recovered, there are five active cases.
