Flu-shot clinics that were set up for this week in an area county have been called off.

According to the Chariton County Health Center, it has had to cancel the flu-shot clinics that were scheduled for Thursday, October 1, at Sumner and Friday, October 2, at Wien.

The vaccine company notified the health department that the high-dose flu vaccine is on back order, which could take up to two weeks to get.

Heath center officials say: “Since we have a high number of individuals at these clinics who are 65 years and older, we feel that we need to cancel these clinics since the high dose will not be available at this time. Please call our office for more information or to schedule an appointment.”
