Two counties in the immediate KMMO listening area reported a double-digit increase of positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, September 29.

According to health-department officials, 12 new cases were confirmed, raising the total to 551 in Lafayette County since the beginning of the pandemic. With 347 positive patients recovered and 14 deaths, there are 231 active cases.

In Cooper County, 11 new cases were confirmed, increasing the county’s total to 457. With 391 positive patients recovered and three deaths, there are 63 active cases.

Six new positive cases increased the total to 780 in Saline County. Due to 12 deaths and 673 positive patients recovered, there are 95 active cases, including three persons hospitalized.

In Pettis County, the positive case count increased by four to 1,134. With 883 positive patients recovered and 20 deaths, 231 cases remain active, including nine persons hospitalized.

Four more positive cases were added in Carroll County, upping its total to 130. Due to 118 positive patients recovered and one death, there are 11 active cases.

In Howard County, one new positive case was added to make the total 292. With 255 positive patients recovered and one death, there are 36 active cases, including one person hospitalized.
