Area authorities have filed an update to a shooting incident nearly two months ago.

According to the Sedalia Police Department, at approximately 12:44 a.m. on August 2, officers responded to the intersection of Lamine and Morgan in reference to a shooting and a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located shell casings and identified one individual with a gunshot wound who was treated and released from a local medical facility.

• At approximately 2:43 p.m. on August 3, officers responded to the Saline/Albright intersection in reference to a shooting where no injuries were reported.
• At approximately 4:44 p.m. on August 3, officers responded to the 400 block of North Prospect Avenue in reference to a shooting, where no injuries were reported.
•At approximately 10:11 p.m. on August 11, officers responded to the area of the Broadway/Wagner intersection in reference to a shooting, where no injuries were reported.

On August 15, Pettis County Crime Stoppers requested assistance from the public regarding a series of shootings which had occurred in Sedalia over the past few days.

On August 16, 21-year-old Keshawn J. Flowers, of Sedalia, was arrested on drugs and weapon charges. Then on August 21, a warrant was issued for felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action for his part in these shootings.

Flowers is being held at the Pettis County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

On August 14, 22-year-old Zechariah Hoskins Ellis was issued a $75,000 warrant for two counts of felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Armed Criminal Action for his part in these shootings.

On September 28, Ellis was arrested on his warrant by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and is being held in the Cooper County Jail on additional drug and weapons charges. Based on information obtained during the investigation and the arrest, SPD investigators served a search warrant at 2405 Golf Drive, and located evidence and a vehicle reportedly used in some of the shootings.

This investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected. Through the course of investigating these cases, several additional arrests have been made which have led to removing guns, drugs and violent individuals with active arrest warrants from the streets of the community, as well as an increase in directed patrol in the areas associated with the individuals suspected of these crimes.
