Three men accused of multiple felonies, including kidnapping, nearly 2-1/2 years ago are scheduled to have court proceedings on Monday, October 5.

According to authorities, on April 26, 2018, law-enforcement officers arrived at the scene of a reported kidnapping at the Super 8 Motel in Higginsville and arrested the three men, who allegedly had held two females against their will; raped and assaulted them; and demanded ransom money.

Jaciel Acdala Mendez-Morales, who is now 20 years old, 25-year-old Alain Gaspar Camarillo-Linan and 24-year-old Luis Angel Sierra-Vallina have been charged. Mendez-Morales and Sierra-Vallina are being held on $500,000 and Camarillo-Linan on $750,000 cash-only bond at the Lafayette County Jail.

A case review for each defendant is scheduled to be held at 3 p.m. at Lafayette County Circuit Court. A jury trial in each case is scheduled to begin on March 29, 2021, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
