With only one week remaining in its Lake Lotawana League season, The Missouri Valley College shooting sports team sits near the top in two competition divisions.

The Vikings currently lead the Sportsman Division, holding a record of 58-14.  A second Missouri Valley team in the division is third overall, with a record of 44.5-27.5.  Sophomore Ryan Niemeier (Keytesville, Mo.) is second overall in the division, with an average of 21.167, while Senior Darion Weber (Richmond, Mo.) comes in at seventh with a 19.250 average.  Freshman Austin Butteris (Richland, Mo.) follows in eighth at 18.917, Junior Ricky Evaristo (Lincoln, Neb.) is ninth with an average of 18.667, and Sophomore Alyson Tuckwiller (Bates City, Mo.) is tenth with a 17.750 average.  Neiemer is also third in the handicap, with a 20.000 average, and was listed as the Top Gun for week six.

In the Major Division, the Missouri Valley team is second overall, with a record of 50.5-21.5.  Sophomore Heather Windes (Washburn, Mo.) is second in the individual overall standings, with a 22.000 average.  Junior Reece Fernholz (Arcadia, Wis.) is sixth with an average of 21.250, with Junior Austin Rechtermann (Hardin, Mo.) is seventh with a 21.167 average.  Freshman Nick Anderson (Savannah, Tenn.) is eighth with an average of 20.417.  In the handicap standings, Winds is second with a 20.833.

Also the Viking shooting sports team hosted the 2020 Fall Sports Clays Shootout.  In the collegiate division, Rechetermann led all Vikings by placing seventh with a score of 88.  Windes followed with a score of 80.

The shooting sports team will continue league competition this week, and compete in the MYSSA Shootout at Prairie Grove in Columbia, on Saturday, October 17.
