
The total positive case count of COVID-19 continues to increase in several area counties.
According to health-department officials, 11 new positive cases were added, while another 11 positive patients recovered in Saline County on Wednesday, October 7. In all, there have been 886 total positive cases. With 752 active patients recovered and 12 deaths, there are 122 active cases, including four persons hospitalized.
In Pettis County, the total number of positive cases increased by 41 from 1,234 on Monday to 1,275 on Wednesday. With 21 deaths and 1,017 positive patients recovered, there are 237 active cases, including 12 persons hospitalized.
Cooper County reported 36 new positive cases between October 1 and Tuesday, October 6, increasing the county’s total from 469 to 505. With 446 recoveries and three deaths, there are 56 active cases, including five persons hospitalized.
Howard County reported 30 new positive cases during Tuesday and Wednesday, raising the county’s total to 351. Due to 283 positive patients recovered and one death, there are 67 active cases.
Four new positive cases were reported in Carroll County, raising its total to 157. With 135 recoveries and two deaths, there are 20 active cases, including one person hospitalized.
Updates were not available from Chariton, and Lafayette Counties. The Lafayette County Health Department has reported they will be reporting numbers on Monday and Friday instead of daily.
