
Another COVID-19-related death was reported in an area county on Thursday, October 8.
According to health-department officials, this death brings the total to 22 in Pettis County since the beginning of the pandemic. In all, 36 more positive cases were added, increasing the county’s total to 1,311. With 1,030 positive patients recovered and 22 deaths, there are 259 active cases, including 10 persons hospitalized.
Seven new positive cases were reported in Saline County, upping its total to 893. With six more recoveries- raising that total to 758- and 12 deaths, 123 cases remain active, including five persons hospitalized.
In Carroll County, four new cases were reported, raising its total to 161. With 136 positive patients recovered and two deaths, there are 23 active cases, including one person hospitalized.
One more positive case was added in Chariton County, raising its total to 78. With two more recoveries, increasing that total to 76, two cases remain active.
Updates were not available from Cooper, Howard and Lafayette Counties.
