Some Marshall residents have reported political signs have disappeared or have been vandalized.
A news release says the Marshall Police Department is continuing to receive reports on this issue. The department wants the public to know that stealing these signs is not only disrespectful, but against the law.
Stealing or willfully destroying campaign signs is a class four election offense, and convictions can lead to a fine and/or jail time.
At 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, the Marshall Police Department received a call regarding persons damaging political signs in the area of East Gordon Street. Officers were dispatched to the area and conducted their investigation, which led to the arrest of three persons.
