During the meeting of the Board of Public Works on Thursday, MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom reported on the BiO2 wastewater treatment system. Bill Stouffer of Flotron & McIntosh has been working for the Commission as an advisor on the Marshall Junction development project and had recommended the BiO2 system.

Bergstrom said he’s done some research on the BiO2 system and he hasn’t had any positive feedback on it.

Bergstrom reported Otterville received 12 DNR warning letters.

Bergstrom said after further discussions with Missouri Public Utility Alliance and the enviromental people there, he hopes they will steer the county in the right direction.

Bergstrom has shared his findings with the commission and will be meeting with them in the near future to offer MMUs help with the junction wastewater system selection.

The next regular Board of Public Works meeting is scheduled to be held Thursday, October 29.
