A 1-year-old child drowned on Thursday, October 15, in Pettis County.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the subject left a residence and was located in a private pond. Lifesaving measures were performed, but the boy was pronounced deceased on the scene by Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith at 1:45 p.m.

The incident was first reported at 11:58 a.m. at a location on Tatum Loop.
