With the weather turning colder, an area law-enforcement agency is stepping up to offer help to those in need of some warm clothing.

A news release says if you have new or gently-used coats, you may drop them off at the Sedalia Police Department at 300 West 3rd Street or at the Pettis County Community Partnership at 1400 South Limit Avenue, Suite 29.

New hats, scarves and gloves also are always good things to donate.

If the coats or other items are torn and/or soiled, you are asked not to donate them because they do not have a way to mend or clean them.

The hours at the Pettis County Community Partnership are 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays.

If you have any questions, you may call the Sedalia Police Department at (660) 827-7823, ext. 1201; or call the Pettis County Community Partnership at (660) 827-0560.
