Two pedestrians suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Pettis County on Friday. The driver of the vehicle has been identified.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 35-year-old Martez Troy, of Sedalia, failed to stop at a crosswalk and struck the two pedestrians. The vehicle then fled the scene.

Suffering minor injuries were 67-year-old Vicki Mewes and a 10-year-old boy, both of Sedalia. Mewes was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment, while the boy told first responders he would seek his own treatment.

The accident happened at 3:35 p.m. on 32nd Street at Skyline Drive in Sedalia.
