
A California, Missouri, man was arrested and has been charged with felonies in Cooper County.
According to a report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper, on October 19, he observed a dark-colored Pontiac Grand Prix traveling north on Missouri Highway 5 in Cooper County. The vehicle and registration matched the description of a wanted felon, considered armed and dangerous, identified as Brandon Eugene Pace.
The trooper activated his emergency lights and siren and attempted to stop the vehicle, however the driver accelerated and failed to yield from Missouri Highway 5 at Belair until the 105 mile marker on eastbound I-70. The vehicle crashed into a tractor trailer at the 106 mile marker on eastbound I-70 and came to rest. Pace was arrested.
Court documents say Pace has been charged with Class D Felonies for Stealing a Firearm, Explosive Weapon or Ammonium Nitrate and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; a Class E Felony for resisting arrest; and a driving-related misdemeanor. Bond has not been set yet.
Pace’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
