A teacher in an area school district has earned a couple of awards.

According to a news release, Amanda Smith (left), regional program manager for Missouri’s Jobs for America’s Graduates program, presented Smith-Cotton High School JAG Specialist Amanda Harvey with two awards during the Sedalia 200 School Board meeting on Monday, October 26, in the Heckart Performing Arts Center.

Harvey was honored as an Outstanding JAG Specialist and a JAG Peak Performer. Smith said Harvey is “one of the very best in Missouri.”

JAG is a program to support students to graduate from high school and transition into college and careers.
