As a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of staff and students, the Slater School District will begin virtual learning for the next week.

According to Superintendent Debbie Gonzalez, in an effort to remain proactive, the district has made the decision to take action on the increasing illnesses that are being reported in the district. Starting Friday, October 30, the school will be closed for a deep and thorough cleaning. All staff will report back on Monday, November 2 and the students will not report back until Monday until November 9.

During this time, students will be following a virtual schedule.

In regards to sports, Gonzalez says if the team is not quarantined, the district is still allowing for practices and games. Coaches will be in contact with their teams with information regarding times.

Any questions can be directed to Superintendent Debbie Gonzalez at 660-529-2278 ext. 111.
