
Five new COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the KMMO listening area on Friday.
In Saline County, the total number of positive cases increased by 19 bringing that total to 1,062. There were nine new recoveries added bringing the total number of persons released from observation to 952. Of the 1,062 cases reported, 96 cases remain active, six persons remain hospitalized and there have been a total of 14 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The Carroll County Health Department reported an increase of 38 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, raising the county total to 271. There were also three additional deaths reported bringing that total to eight. With 216 persons deemed recovered, according to CDC guidelines, three persons hospitalized and the eight deaths, 47 cases remain active.
In Chariton County, eight new cases of the virus were reported and six cases were released from public health isolation. This makes a total of 121 COVID-19 cases in Chariton County, with 27 of them being active and 94 of them being released from public health isolation.
The last update from Cooper County was on Wednesday. At that time, there were 697 positive cases confirmed. Out of those 697 cases, 629 cases have recovered, there have been a total of two death, three people remain hospitalized and 66 cases remain active.
There were no new cases reported on Friday in Howard County. As of Thursday, there were 431 total cases of the virus in the county with 31 cases still active.
In Johnson County, the case count has jumped to 1,777. With 275 active cases and 16 deaths, 1,486 cases have been released from observation.
On Friday, the Lafayette County Health Department reported 75 new cases of COVID-19 since its last report on Monday, October 26. To date, there have been 905 confirmed cases in the county. As of Friday, 219 cases remain active, there have been two additional deaths bringing that total to 27 and 659 people have been released from observation.
The Pettis County Health Center added 29 new cases to its total, which is now at 1,860. With 512 cases still active, a total of 26 deaths and 19 persons hopitalized, 1,322 cases have been released from observation.
