Area residents are invited to a Veterans’ Day Ceremony that is scheduled to be held in Saline County next week.

According to a release from Steve Olson, Adjutant at Malta Bend American Legion Memorial Post 558, it will be hosting its Veterans’ Day Ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, on the south side of the Saline County Courthouse in Marshall.

Olson says the event, which will feature the 21-bell chiming of the Bells of Peace, will be downsized from past celebrations given the COVID-19 situation.

The event will not have either of the two student choirs, the Marshall High School band, nor the release of balloons, but will offer a speaker, a remembrance of veterans, a 21-gun salute and TAPs.
