Southeast Elementary School has over half its student population and over one-third of staff quarantined due to a significant increase in COVID close contacts.

Marshall Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher says, according to the MPS Returning to Learning Plan, Southeast will be transitioning to all-distance learning beginning tomorrow, November 5th until Thursday, November 12th.  Students will be provided with packets and/or other resources for continued learning but will not be physically present until the 12th.

Dr. Maher says that the district understands this is very trying for parents and families.  Administrators and staff want to be in school too, but student and staff safety must be considered above all else.  This decision pertains to Southeast Elementary only.
