A double-digit increase of positive COVID-19 cases was reported in an area county over the weekend.

According to Chariton County Health Center officials, six positive cases were added on each Saturday and Sunday. The addition of 12 cases raises the county’s total to 217 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 120 positive patients being released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 97 active cases.

Updates were not available from Saline, Carroll, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis Counties over the weekend.
