drugs-handcuffs-2

Two Brookfield residents are facing multiple drug-related felony charges after the execution of a narcotics search warrant at their residence on Halloween.

A probable-cause statement says during the search, several items of an illegal nature were discovered- including multiple clear baggies containing a white powdery substance; multiple glass smoking pipes; approximately eight used syringes; a large metal spoon, with a white substance on it; multiple different types of controlled pills, none of which were in labeled prescription bottles.

Court documents say 57-year-old Franklin Wayne Alberts and 53-year-old Catherine Marie Alberts each has been charged with two counts of a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance; a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; and a Class C Felony for Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance.

On November 2, Catherine appeared via video link from jail and was permitted to post an own-recognizance bond with special conditions.

Franklin was arraigned on November 3. His bond was modified from no bond allowed to $25,000 cash or surety on November 5.

Each defendant’s next hearing is scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, at Linn County Circuit Court.
