Two Carrollton residents suffered injuries in a head-on traffic crash in Carroll County on Sunday.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Brandon McDowell, traveled into the opposite lane and struck a northbound vehicle, driven by 39-year-old Mary Albert.

McDowell was flown by air ambulance to Truman Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Albert, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Carroll County E.M.S. to Carroll County Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The crash happened at 5:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 65 at County Road 340.
