A teacher in an area school has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Malta Bend Superintendent John Angelhow, the district was notified on Monday that a part-time teacher has tested positive for COVID-19. The teacher will be quarantining at home for the recommended period.
The part-time teacher was at the school for two hours. No students were in close contact with her for an extended period of time. She was at the piano in the gym with the elementary students, who were in the bleachers, practicing for the Veteran’s Day Assembly. Therefore, no students were considered close contacts.
The district will continue to monitor all students for signs and symptoms of any illness.
