Nominations are now being accepted for the January 2021 election of Saline County Extension Council members.
Council members are elected or appointed to two-year terms and may not serve more than two consecutive terms. Nominees must be at least 18 and must reside in Saline County. Self-nomination and nomination of others is allowed. Nominees will be contacted to secure their permission to place their names on the January ballot.
According to Saline County Engagement Specialist Chelsea Corkins, the Council is looking for nominees who are interested in education and the progress of the community. The Council needs active council members to work with University of Missouri Extension specialists to help plan educational programs.
University of Missouri Extension offers educational programs in categories such as agriculture, home economics, business and industry, community development, youth development (4-H) and various continuing education courses, seminars and workshops.
Nominations must be made on or before November 30, 2020 through the council chairman or the Saline County Extension Office by visiting in-person or calling (660)886-6908.
