An area school board is scheduled to meet in special session on Monday, November 16.

A news release says the Sedalia School District 200 School Board is scheduled to consider changes to the district calendar to extend the Thanksgiving break to include Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24; and Christmas break to start on Monday, December 21.

In addition, the board is scheduled to consider compensation options to attract more substitute teachers. Moving students in grades 9-12 to all-virtual learning for designated period of time also is scheduled to be discussed.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Heckart Performing Arts Center at Smith-Cotton High School.

The regular board meeting set for Monday,  November 23, will be held as scheduled.
