Entries are now being accepted for the annual Christmas Light Contest in Sedalia.

Xi Beta Upsilon, chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, with the assistance of the Mayor and the City Council is pleased to announce Sedalia’s 40th annual outdoor Christmas Light Contest.

There will be TWO different judging categories; one for residences and another for businesses!

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners in each category. Prize money will be $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place.

The deadline for entering is 12:00 p.m. (noon), Monday, December 14th, with the judging to take place on Tuesday, December 15th, beginning after 6:30 p.m.

Displays will be judged on a point basis with 10 points allowed in each category; lighting, eye appeal, originality and overall appeal.

Complete display is to remain in place throughout the Christmas holiday season for the enjoyment of the community. The contest is confined to the city limits. City employees are not eligible to participate in this contest.

If you have not won a cash prize in the last three years, you may enter by submitting an application to the Mayor’s Office, 200 S.
