Positive COVID-19 cases increased by more than three dozen over the weekend in Saline County.

According to health-department officials, 42 more positive cases were added on Saturday and Sunday, increasing the total to 1,472 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 46 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered over the same time frame, raising that total to 1,177, and 16 deaths, the active case count has decreased to 279.

Three new positive cases were added in Chariton County on Sunday, upping its total to 329. With 202 recoveries, there are 127 active cases.

Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
