Students in an area school district will remain distance learning for the time being.
According to a release from Concordia R-2 Superintendent Brent Cooper, due to a significant increase in staff who are either quarantined or waiting for COVID-19 test results, the district’s students will distance learn for the remainder of this week- through Friday, November 20.
Cooper says currently the district has 16 staff members who will not be able to work on Tuesday, November 17; 13 due to quarantine. The district had two additional students who tested positive at Concordia High School on Monday, as well.
Cooper adds, “We will make a decision by 5 p.m. Friday about the status of next week. All extra-curricular practices this week will be cancelled (except those that can be done virtually) and games cancelled/postponed. The basketball jamboree for Tuesday, November 17, has been cancelled.”
Lex-La-Ray students who aren’t quarantined will still attend vo-tech this week as originally scheduled, according to Cooper.
