More COVID-19-related deaths were reported in a county in the KMMO listening area over the last few days.

According to health-department officials on Monday, November 16, three deaths raise the total to five in Chariton County since the beginning of the pandemic. The county also saw an increase of 19 positive cases since its last report, raising the total to 348. With 216 positive patients being released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 132 active cases.

In Pettis County, 59 positive cases were added to its total since Friday, November 13, increasing its total to 2,719. With 1,758 recoveries and 28 deaths, there are 933 active cases, including 17 persons hospitalized.

Fifteen more positive cases were reported in Saline County, raising its total to 1,487. However, with 42 more recoveries, raising that total to 1,219, and 16 deaths, the active case count has decreased to 252.

Due to staff shortages and a high volume of cases, Lafayette County Health Department officials say they were not able to post their usual Monday update. They say they will post a full update on Friday, November 20.

Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper and Howard Counties.
