The Marshall City Council was asked to approve an agreement for some work to be done at the Marshall Memorial Municipal Airport during its meeting on Monday, November 16.

City Administrator David Haugland explained the agreement is with Parking Lot Maintenance LLC.

The total cost is $196,585, with MODOT picking up 90 percent of the tab.

Haugland said with the weather predicted to be good this week, the crews think they can get a lot of the work finished.

The council approved both readings of the proposed ordinance.

Haugland also said the city received some funds to help with expenses at the airport.

In other business, the council approved the first reading of an agreement with the Missouri State Corn Husking Championship. It’s a lease for farming of certain agricultural land owned by the city. The agreement is for the city to receive $5,000 per year for each of the two years of the contract. The second reading of the agreement will have to be approved during a future of the council before it takes effect.
