Two more COVID-19-related deaths were reported and four of the five counties that updated COVID-19 numbers on Tuesday, November 17, reported double-digit increases of positive cases.

According to health-department officials, the two deaths in Pettis County raised its total to 30 since the beginning of the pandemic. It also had the largest increase of positive cases- 90- from 2,719 to 2,809. With 1,829 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered and 30 deaths, there are 950 active cases.

Carroll County reported its positive case total jumped from 404 on Friday, November 13, to 429 on Tuesday. With 374 positive patients recovered and eight deaths, there are 47 active cases.

In Howard County, 23 new positive cases were added, raising its total to 617. Due to 558 recoveries and one death, there are 58 active cases, including one person hospitalized.

Saline County reported 13 new positive cases, upping its total to 1,500. With 1,251 recoveries – including 32 on Tuesday- and 16 deaths, the active case count decreased to 233, including nine persons hospitalized.

Eight new positive cases were confirmed in Chariton County, raising its total to 356. With 225 positive patients recovered, there are 131 active cases.

Updates were not available from Cooper and Lafayette Counties.
