Grant Woods, 71, of Concordia, MO, died Wednesday, November 25, at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with Dr. Alan Gatewood and William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born August 3, 1949 in Drexel Hill, PA, he was the son of the late Archibald G. Woods and Carol Kammeyer Woods.  Grant lived in Concordia since 1966 where he was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, a 1968 graduate of Concordia High School and then attended Central Missouri State University.  On June 19, 1971 he married Peggy Meineka who survives of the home.  Grant’s career was spent as a machinist with Kesemann Tool & Die where he worked for nearly 40 years as well as working at Alewel’s Country Meats.  He served in the Missouri Army National Guard for six years, was a little league baseball coach, and was a volunteer fireman for 27 years with Concordia Fire Protection District.  One of Grant’s favorite things to do was to spend time with his family at the lake or at the race track.

In addition to his wife, Peggy; he is survived by three sons: Brian Woods (Amy), Ben Woods (Rita) and Brett Woods (Meghan), all of Concordia; seven grandchildren: Peyton, Bella, Brody, Taylor, Caitlin, Cody and Archer; one sister, Denna Woods of Lake Ozark; three brothers: Glenn Woods of Lee’s Summit, Jeff Woods of Olathe, KS and Scott Woods of La Cygne, KS; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
