Missouri Valley College women’s basketball senior standout, Shanelle Tolley (SR/Hope Island, Australia), has been honored as the Heart Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Tolley earned the first weekly conference award of her career after leading the Vikings to a 1-1 showing last week. The win came against conference foe Mount Mercy, where Tolley notched 19 points and a career-high of 16 rebounds. She finished the contest shooting an efficient 7-for-9 from the floor and 8-for-7 from the charity stripe. Tolley averaged a double-double on the week with 13.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game through two contests.

The Vikings are set to return to action this evening with a home contest against Park University. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 PM inside the Burns Athletic Complex.
