
More COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the KMMO listening area on Wednesday, December 2.
According to health-department officials, in Pettis County, two more deaths on Wednesday raise the total to 34 since the beginning of the pandemic. The total of positive cases increased by 77 to 3,381. With 2,581 recoveries and 34 deaths, there are 766 active cases, including 30 positive patients hospitalized.
Two more COVID-19 related deaths- an 83-year-old male and an 83-year-old female- were reported in Saline County on Tuesday, increasing its total to 32. Sixteen new positive cases of the virus were confirmed, raising the county’s total to 1,784. With 1,631 recoveries and 32 deaths, there are 121 active cases, including nine positive patients hospitalized.
Over the past week, in Cooper County, two more deaths were reported, raising its total to eight. The total of positive cases increased by 81 since November 25 to 1,298. Due to 1,050 recoveries and eight deaths, there are 80 active cases, including nine positive patients hospitalized.
In Howard County, 28 new positive cases were added on Tuesday and Wednesday, raising its total to 797. With 745 recoveries and three deaths, there are 49 active cases, including seven positive patients hospitalized.
Ten new positive cases were reported in Chariton County, upping its total to 484. With 369 recoveries and five deaths, there are 110 active cases.
Updates were not available from Carroll and Lafayette Counties.
