Since last reported on Tuesday, December 1, the COVID-19-related death total grew by four to 13 on Friday, December 4, in Carroll County.

According to health-department officials, the total number of positive cases also increased by 32 from 577 to 609 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 542 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered and 13 deaths, there are 54 active cases.

Two more COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Chariton County on Friday, upping its total to seven. In addition, seven new positive cases were added, raising its total to 497. With 373 recoveries and seven deaths, there are 117 active cases in the county.

In Saline County, 26 new positive cases were added on Friday, raising the county’s total to 1,844. Due to 33 deaths and 1,693 recoveries- including 29 on Friday- the active case count is down to 118, including nine positive patients hospitalized.

Eighteen more positive cases were added in Howard County during Thursday and Friday, increasing the county’s total to 799. With 747 recoveries and three deaths, there are 49 active cases, including nine positive patients hospitalized.

Updates were not available from Cooper, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
