
A Sedalia man is facing felony charges in a stabbing incident that happened on October 8 in Pettis County.
According to the Sedalia Police Department, officers responded to American Inn at 1217 South Limit Avenue in reference to a subject who had been stabbed. The suspect had fled the scene, however witnesses were interviewed and the scene was processed.
On October 13, detectives interviewed the victim and were provided with more information. Through further investigation, the suspect was identified as 57-year-old Francisco “Frank” Fernandez, of Sedalia.
Court documents say Fernandez has been charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree- Serious Physical Injury or Special Victim; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. His bond was amended from the original $100,000 and is now set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Fernandez waived his preliminary hearing on Wednesday, December 2. His case was bound over to the trial division and Fernandez is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 7 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
