A 35-year-old Boonville man was killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Cooper County on Saturday.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by Nathan Mann, exited off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, slid across the center of the roadway and overturned into the path of an eastbound vehicle, driven by 52-year-old Leroy Williams, of Sedalia. Williams’ vehicle attempted to avoid Mann’s vehicle and traveled off the right side of the roadway. However, Mann’s vehicle struck Williams’ vehicle.

Mann, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased on the scene at 10:36 a.m. by Cooper County Coroner James Hurt. Williams was transported by private vehicle to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of minor injuries.

The crash happened at 10:26 a.m. on Missouri Highway 98, one-quarter of a mile west of Brady Lane.
