More positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in an area county on Saturday, December 5.

According to health-department officials in Chariton County, four more positive cases were reported, raising the total to 501 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 376 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered and seven COVID-19-related deaths, there are 118 active cases in the county.

Updates were not available from Saline, Carroll, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis Counties in the immediate KMMO listening area.
