
A person had to be flown for treatment after being mauled by a dog over the weekend.
According to a release from the Marshall Police Department, at approximately 4:27 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 9-1-1 Central Dispatch received an emergency telephone call regarding an animal attack. Officers were dispatched to the area of South Lafayette Avenue to investigate.
Upon officers’ arrival, they observed a female subject lying on the front porch of the residence being attacked by a dog. Officers were able to secure the dog, and Saline County Ambulance was notified to respond to the location.
The victim was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for treatment and then life-flighted to University Hospital in Columbia for further treatment.
