
Frank R. Swisher, 94, of rural Marshall, MO, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Golden Oaks Assisted Living in rural Marshall.
Graveside service with military rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020. in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall with Rev. Dr. Dan Festa officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Face masks will be required at the services and social distancing will be observed. Memorials are suggested to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Katherine Ann Swisher Scholarship Fund at Central Methodist University or Community Food Pantry in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born September 13, 1926, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Adam Tabler Swisher Jr. and Mary Dean Swisher and was a 1944 graduate of Marshall High School. On August 9, 1950, he married Katherine Ann Robertson who preceded him in death on January 11, 2009. He was a Merchant Marine and a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Saline County his entire life and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He was active with the Democratic Party and served on the Saline Democratic Central Committee. He also served on the Saline County Fair Board and was a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558 and Miami Lions Club.
Survivors include five children, Martha Swisher of Bailey, CO, Al Swisher (Frances Spickerman) of Marshall, Virginia Vanderpool (Jack) of rural Marshall, Bob Swisher (Kim) of Platte City, MO and Stan Swisher of Marshall; five grandchildren, Nathan Swisher, Katie Lavelle (Jake), Dana Swisher, Eric Bradley (Molly) and Jacob Bradley; two great-grandsons, Cooper Bradley and Dean Bradley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was preceded in death by one grandson, Jimmy Swisher; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Swisher; and two brothers, Charles Harvey Swisher and John Dean Swisher.
