
During the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, December 7, Mayor Julie Schwetz urged residents to wear face coverings and practice social distancing by reading a note from her and the council.
Schwetz said, “As your elected representatives, we thank all of our citizens for their continued mindfulness of the COVID pandemic that has been with us for far too long. We also express our sympathy to each family and friend who has lost a loved one to or who has recovered from this ugly virus. Unfortunately, it’s here to stay, and we must find ways to move forward to keep each other and our city alive and well.”

According to the Saline County Health Department, as of Monday, December 7, there have been 1,880 positive cases of the virus in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. There are 137 active cases in the county, including 10 positive patients hospitalized.
