A 37-year-old De Witt man was placed on probation after entering a plea deal with prosecutors.

On July, 15, 2020 the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, conducted a traffic stop and attempted to arrest Timothy Lee Sparks. While the trooper was attempting to handcuff Sparks, he free from the trooper and fled into a nearby wooded area and was not located. Prior to Sparks pulling away from the trooper, the trooper located a folded up $20 bill that contained methamphetamine on his person.

Sparks was arrested on a month later. Sparks was charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest; six misdemeanors and two infractions.

On December 8, 2020, Sparks plead guilty to Felony Possession and Felony Resisting Arrest.
