
During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, December 10, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden explained how the remainder of the county’s CARES Act money will be doled out.
The county received more than $2.6 million in CARES Act money earlier this year to be distributed to entities negatively affected by COVID-19.
In other news, Gooden said she received a message from U.S. Senator Roy Blunt’s office about expanding rural broadband grants.
Clerk Debbie Russell also reported that for candidates wishing to run during the Municipal Election, the filing window opens at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, and closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. She says candidates will need to file with the clerk or secretary of the council, board or committee during regular business hours. The Municipal Election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
