Several more COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the KMMO listening area on Thursday, December 10.

According to health-department officials, since its last report on Thursday, December 3, the virus has claimed five more lives in Lafayette County, increasing the county’s total to 38 since the beginning of the pandemic. Ninety-three more positive cases were added over the same time frame, upping that total to 1,598. With 38 deaths and 1,346 previously-active cases released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 214 active cases in the county.

One more death was reported in Pettis County, raising its total to 40. Thirty-four more active cases were reported, increasing that total to 3,705. Due to 2,799 recoveries and 40 deaths, there are 866 active cases, including 22 positive patients hospitalized.

In Saline County, 18 more positive cases were added since Wednesday morning, upping its total to 1,929. Due to 36 deaths and 1,757 recoveries, there are 136 active cases.

Chariton County added one more death to increase its total to 11. Five more positive cases, raise the county’s total to 526. With 11 deaths and 402 recoveries, there are 113 active cases.

In Cooper County, the positive case count rose by 91 from 1,298 on December 2 to 1,389 on Thursday. With 1,161 recoveries and eight deaths, there are 72 active cases, including five positive patients hospitalized.

Updates were not available from Carroll and Howard Counties.
