At approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 07, Michael Miller entered Marshall Police Department (MPD) lobby and spoke with MPD Dispatcher in reference to his vehicle being borrowed and not being returned.
When the officer arrived to investigate, Miller advised the officer that he had let a woman, known to him as Shyla Martin, borrow is vehicle around 7 a.m. on November 27 or November 28. Martin was supposed to have the vehicle returned by 10 p.m. the same evening she had borrowed it, and she had not returned it by the agreed upon time. Miller told the officer he wasn’t sure if Martin was Shyla’s actual name but he assumed it was because Martin is her sister’s last name. After further investigation it is believed that the female’s name is Shyla Cranmer.
Miller described his vehicle as a yellow 1999 Ford Mustang, with two doors, damage to the front bumper, and damage to the passenger door that he stated was from a prior accident.
When Miller was asked if he knew what area his vehicle may be in he reportedly told the officer it could be in Sedalia, Fayette, or Marshall.
The vehicle was entered in to MULES as stolen. The vehicle was later found abandoned and was recovered in Sedalia, and returned to Miller.
