An Armstrong man is facing a drug-related felony after a search warrant was executed at a home in Howard County.

According to authorities, on June 19, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 200 block of South Evans Street. During the search of the home, authorities located three three-foot potted marijuana plants with jugs of water and a container of inside-outdoor plant food inside a small closet in the dining room. The marijuana plants weighed 9.35 ounces.

During a search of the backyard, authorities located a 55-gallon barrel with marijuana plants with roots drying on top of the drum layer of the barrel. The dried marijuana plants weighs 4.76 ounces.

Edward Scott Downs has been charged with a Class C Felony for Manufacturing a Controlled Substance and a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The court released Downs on his own recognize on August 17 due to a medical emergency.

In an unrelated case, on August 18, Downs was found to be the person named in Affidavit of Fugitive from Justice. Downs waived extradition and he was ordered to be surrendered to appropriate authorities of Rogers County, Oklahoma.

The court has continued this cause and a Case Review has been rescheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15 at Howard County Circuit Court.
