Additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the KMMO listening area on Monday, December 14.

According to health-department officials, in Chariton County, two deaths raise the total to 14 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, 19 new positive cases of the virus were confirmed, increasing the county’s total to 551. With 471 previously positive cases being released from public health isolation as recovered and 14 deaths, there are 66 active cases in the county.

In Saline County, one more COVID-19-related death raises the county’s total to 40. Fifteen more positive cases were confirmed, increasing the county’s total to 1,986. With 1,834 previously positive patients listed as recovered and 40 deaths, there are 112 active cases in the county.

In Howard County, the latest update was from Thursday and Friday, December 10 and 11. Over that two-day period, 21 new positive cases were added and 23 recoveries were reported. In all, there have been 851 total positive cases. Due to 789 recoveries and three deaths, there are 59 active cases in the county, including three positive patients hospitalized.

Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
